Montparnasse is a young, extremely lively district, with a particularly exciting night-life thanks to its many bars, restaurants, theatres and cinemas. Nearby is the conference centre situated at Porte de Versailles, where the biggest exhibitions in Paris are held. Walking back up towards the river Seine you can see the Eiffel Tower, built in 1889 and symbol of Paris the world over. It is situated between Champs de Mars and Trocadéro.
